Playa Encanto , located a few miles south of Rocky Point’s downtown, has long been considered by locals and the well-travelled to be the best beach in the area. Opposite from Sandy Beach which contains coral and crowds, Playa Encanto retains the natural wonder of a visit to the beach in Mexico that is often overshadowed by tourism.
Besides the daily take of shell hunting, this beautiful stretch of beach regularly sees nesting sea turtles, whales in season off the coast, groups of dolphins, and a full array of birds. Many come to escape the crowds at other beaches, especially during Spring Break or Semana Santa, where guests enjoy more private beach.
Rentals on Playa Encanto
For decades there was little to no construction on Playa Encanto allowing for few rentals. There are homes for rent on Playa Encanto and now newly built condos at Encantame Towers and soon rentals at Encantame Soleil.
Horseback riding on the Beach
Playa Encanto is one of the few local beach areas that allow horseback riding along the beach. You can regularly find horses for rent nearby or in front of Encantame Towers. Guests have enjoyed long sunset horseback walks or for the more experienced riders, galloping in the shallow surf.
Banana Boat Rides
With less traffic and crowds on Playa Encanto, some ask is it hard to find nearby things to do. Banana Boat rides are always a great time for kids of all ages, and while less prevalent than Sandy Beach, they can be found near the shorelines on occasion especially weekends and holidays. Shelling on Playa Encanto
For a free and daily activity for some, walking on the beach in Playa Encanto, allows you access to thousands of unique shells, sand dollars and more. Unlike Sandy Beach , where hard corral abounds, Playa Encanto features smooth fine sand to allow you to walk miles in either direction from Encantame Towers, or even out into the surf to find your perfect shell to add to your collection.
